Shiv Sena youth wing chief Aditya Thackeray has joined the ongoing campaign in support of net neutrality, saying he has written to the chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on the matter. "I think it's not only about netizens, it's also about citizens. You have many websites now, you have e-shopping and you have start-ups on web now. You have a lot of youngsters doing a lot of business over the internet. The concern is if the internet is charged for these over the top services, what will happen to these smaller businesses?" Mr Thackeray said to NDTV.
"The internet has gone beyond the economic strata and economic divide. The urban-rural is divide is slowly being bridged because of this. If we kill net neutrality, we will reverse this too," said Aditya Thackeray.
