Imphal: Manipur's educational institutions will reopen after a suspension of four months following an understanding between Apunba Lup and the state government.
Apunba Lup an umbrella organisation of civil society groups and student bodies had called for boycott of classes following the August 2009 alleged fake encounter in which a former militant Sanjit was killed by police commandos in an Imphal market.
The encounter was caught on camera and the photographs published in a national magazine, which sparked off widespread agitation against alleged fake encounters in the state.
