Border villages in Punjab had been evacuated after the Army's surgical strikes last Thursday.

Chandigarh: The Punjab government today decided to reopen all schools, which had to close because of the tensions between India and Pakistan, in the border areas from Wednesday.

All schools situated within 10km of the border and had been closed for security reasons would be reopened on Wednesday, state Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema said today.

The decision has been taken keeping in mind that the students are amidst the academic session and their studies are getting affected.
