Jammu: The second batch of 1,214 pilgrims today left from the base camp here to the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in South Kashmir Himalayas amid tight security.
The batch, comprising of 837 male, 227 female and 150 sadhus, left in a cavalcade of 33 vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar base camp at 5:20 AM, a police official said.
The convoy for the yatra has already crossed Patnitop on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and would reach its destination at Baltal and Pahalgam base camps by this evening, he added.
With today's batch, 2,496 pilgrims have so far left from the Jammu base camp for the Amarnath cave shrine.
