Mumbai: In Mumbai where 26/11 terrorist Ajmal Qasab's trial is on, the second prosecution witness identified Qasab as one of the attackers.
The witness, a police sub-inspector also identified the clothes Qasab was wearing on 26/11.
He also told the court that none of the 6 policemen who faced the terrorists had weapons. All they had were lathis. He said even 26/11 martyr Tukaram Omble was not armed.
He said Omble and he tried to get hold of Qasab's weapon. Qasab resisted and fell down on the road.
The witness said Omble and he sustained injuries and while Omble fell down he held on to the gun.
On Monday, while the trial was on, the judge ticked Qasab off for laughing in court. Qasab started laughing when a witness was identifying the guns used by Qasab and his partner Abu Ismail.
The judge shouted at him and asked him why he was laughing. He told Qasab to stop his drama as the court was in progress.
Dressed in a grey t-shirt and blue track pants that barely reached his shin, just about 5 feet 2, slightly hunched, fair and sporting a beard, earlier in the day, when Qasab stepped into the court for the first time, he was fidgety and smiled throughout the proceedings.
It seemed like he was enjoying being the center of attention. Also perhaps because he claims he did not understand the court proceedings.
