Jammu: Curfew has been imposed and Army called in after sectarian clashes in several villages of Pattan area in north Kashmir.
Twelve houses and 40 shops have been gutted in the sectarian clashes, which broke out between Shia and Sunni sects on Thursday evening. Six people have also been injured in the incident.
Army has been called to prevent further spread of violence. District administration is trying to hold a joint meeting of elders from both the sects.
The Jammu and Kashmir government is sending senior ministers to the affected area on Friday morning.
