New Delhi: Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is now in the US, the Congress today said showmanship, selfies and self-promotion can never replace diplomacy and delivery.
"Showmanship, selfies and self-promotion can never replace diplomacy and delivery. Now Prime Minister Narendra Modi -- famous for touring the world at the cost of public exchequer -- is on another sojourn in his unending quest for personal promotion," Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said.
"Having stayed in foreign countries for nearly three-and-half months out of his 16 month tenure, the prime minister is undertaking his 29th foreign trip, cumulatively on which nearly Rs.200 crore have been spent from public exchequer."
He said Mr Modi must answer what did the people of India get in return out of these visits.
Mr Surjewala also asked if the investments announced during Mr Modi's visits to the US, China, Japan, Germany and the UAE had turned into a reality.
