A senior official of Doordarshan has been reported missing since Friday from New Delhi area, police said on Saturday.
The officer, Jayant Kharche, is posted as Deputy Director General (DDG) at the engineering department in Doordarshan and has been missing since friday afternoon, a senior police officer said.
He had left for a meeting from his office on Friday afternoon and decided to walk to the venue of the meeting since it was nearby, the officer said adding he didn't reach the meeting and his phone was found switched off.
Mr Kharche's family filed a missing complaint and police has initiated the investigation, he said.
His photos have been circulated in all the districts and and railway stations, he said.
"On the personal front, Kharche was in a happy space as his daughter was studying in Pune and there was nothing that was worrying him. He was a loner and a workaholic and there's no enmity angle that the family has spoken about to us. They have said that there might have been some issues on the work front that could have been troubling him," the officer added.
