Chandigarh: In a largesse for serving and retired officers of the state government, Haryana Tourism Corporation has decided to offer a 20 percent discount to them on booking of rooms at any of its tourist complexes.
"This decision has been taken following the persistent requests from officers and officials of various Departments, Boards and Corporations of Haryana in this regard," Principal Secretary, Tourism, Sumita Misra said Chandigarh today.
"An authenticated employee ID with photograph is required on check-in to avail this discount," Ms Misra said.
Haryana Tourism has 42 tourist complexes adjoining lakes, bird sanctuary and golf courses that are equipped with 838 air-conditioned rooms, multi-cuisine restaurants and bars, convention centres, banquets and multipurpose halls all over the state.
The Haryana Tourism was a pioneer in promoting highway tourism in the 1970s and 1980s. However, it has fallen way back in the field owing to stiff competition from the private sector and facilities not being up to the mark.
