The girl at a local hospital in Dholpur
A 17-year-old girl was set on fire in Rajasthan's Dholpur by four youths after she resisted their attempts to molest her. The girl, who sustained 60 per cent burns, is fighting for life at a local hospital.
The incident occurred on Sunday, when the girl was alone at home. The rest of the family had gone visiting relatives on the occasion of rakhi.
Finding her alone, the youths, who were all locals, entered the house and tried to molest her. When she resisted, they sprinkled kerosene on her and set her on fire.
Though the girl has named the attackers, no arrest has been made.
"We have registered a First Information Report for attempt to murder, trespass and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act," said inspector of the local police station Ram Babu Dixit.
