Setback to Mamata-Maoist talks: 5 of the 6 interlocutors quit
Kolkata: In what comes as a big setback for peace talks between West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Maoists, five of the six interlocutors appointed by Ms Banerjee have expressed their inability to carry on the talks.

The interlocutors submitted a letter to the chief minister's office this afternoon saying, "The prevailing situation in Jungle Mahal does not allow is to carry forward peace talks."

Earlier this month, the West Bengal government had intensified its operations against Maoists in Jungle Mahal.
