Seven Indians among 15 migrants detained in Mexico

Mexico City: Fifteen undocumented migrants, including seven from India, have been arrested in Mexico, who were trying to illegally cross into the United States, authorities said.

Those detained at a hotel in Tapachula in the state of Chiapas also included five individuals from El Salvador and three from Honduras, according to the Interior Ministry.

122 people have been detained so far in the past month who were on their way to the US-Mexico border, including dozens of people from India.

Last Thursday, Mexican authorities detained 43 undocumented migrants, including 30 from India, who were found hiding in a house in the town of Ecatepec.

Also last week, a group of 20 others from Guatemala, Honduras and India were arrested when the vehicle they were in failed to stop at a customs checkpoint.
