Ahmedabad : Controversial self-styled godman Asaram Bapu is being taken to Ahmedabad today in connection with the sexual assault case filed against him and his son Narayan Sai by two sisters from Surat. The Ahmedabad police had earlier obtained a transfer warrant from a court for his custody.
Meanwhile, Narayan Sai continues to evade police despite summons and look out notices issued against him by the Surat police. Both father and son had moved the Gujarat High Court seeking quashing of the FIR against them. The court is expected to hear their petition today. Narayan has also filed an anticipatory bail plea in a Surat court which will come up for hearing on Tuesday.
Surat police had registered two complaints against Asaram and his son, of rape, sexual assault, illegal confinement and other charges.
The elder sister has accused Asaram of repeated sexual assaults between 1997 and 2006, when she was living in his ashram on the outskirts of Ahmedabad city.
The younger sister has accused Narayan of repeated sexual assaults between 2002 and 2004 when she was living in Asaram's Surat ashram.
