New Delhi: Former Law minister and co-chairman of the Lokpal Committee Shanti Bhushan today moved Supreme Court seeking criminal contempt action against Amar Singh.
Bhushan wants the Supreme Court to order a probe to find out those involved in the fabrication of a CD which allegedly says Amar Singh had a conversation with him about fixing a judge.
In his petition before the court he said by fabricating the CD, Amar Singh is trying to derail the 2G case and the Amar Singh phone-tapping case before the court.
It also said Amar Singh is trying to influence the judiciary by the fabricated CD.
This is a clear case of contempt of court and the apex court should initiate criminal contempt proceedings against Amar Singh, said the petition.
He also asked the court to order a probe to find those involved in the fabrication of the CD.
Hitting back at the Bhushans, Amar Singh today lodged a police complaint against them for distributing discs containing "tampered" conversations despite a Supreme Court stay. (Read: Amar Singh files police complaint against Bhushans)
He accused the Bhushans of implicating him in the controversial CD case.
TRUTH LABS REPORT
The Hyderabad-based Truth Labs, one of the private agencies that analyzed the CD, has shared its findings with NDTV. (Watch: What the truth labs report says)
It says there are discontinuities and breaks in recording, indicating 'fabricated conversation'.
The report also states substantial part of recordings are electronically copied and there is 'absence of electronic noise before the utterance - chaar crore.'
"In lay man terms, it is a cut paste job to build up this particular CD," said the Chairman of Truth Labs, Dr KPC Gandhi.
