New Delhi:
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday, and briefed him about the status of infrastructure projects being implemented ahead of the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Dikshit met the Prime Minister at his Race Course Road residence, along with Union Sports Minister M S Gill.
The meeting comes amid criticism that some crucial infrastructure projects will miss the October 2010 deadline. The Delhi government has been facing flak for delay in construction of virtually every infrastructure project being undertaken for the big sports event.
Miffed with the slow pace of preparation, Commonwealth Games Federation President Michael Fennel sought the Prime Minister's intervention in September, to put things in order.
