Shiv Sena counters MNS threat

Mumbai: A day after the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) issued warning to State Bank of India (SBI), the Shiv Sena - the original voice of the Marathi Manus - has said it will protect the candidates appearing for the SBI exams.

The Sena also said it will provide security to candidates in at least three centres in Mumbai.

Earlier, the MNS had written to the State Bank of India's Central Recruitment Board to allow only locals to sit for recruitment exams, or else face their music.

The SBI had said that they will ask the police for extra security during the exam which takes place on Sunday morning and points out that as a public sector undertaking, it encourages regional representation.
