Mumbai:
Shiv Sena today criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that the announcements he had made and the promises he had given to people have not been fulfilled yet.
"PM Modi is facing difficulties in doing what he accomplished in Gujarat, at the national level. Announcements were made, promises given, there was a sprinkling of 'achche din' (good days) but none of this reached people," an editorial in Sena mouthpiece Saamana said in Mumbai.
"Now that the PM has issued orders to send inefficient bureaucrats home, people are happy in anticipation of the 'achche din'," the Sena said.
It said that "PM Modi is the strongest and most popular PM ever. But even this strong PM is facing trouble from bureaucracy."
"The general perception seems to be that bureaucracy is creating hurdles in way of ushering in 'achche din'. It has been two years since the Modi government came to power but issues like corruption, inflation, terrorism, economic anarchy, and problems of farmers and unemployment remain," the editorial said.
"If the PM is facing bureaucratic hurdles in ushering in the achche din, who is to blame. It is a matter of research," it added.
