Mumbai:
Angry Shiv Sena workers today shouted slogans against senior party leader Manohar Joshi and forced him to leave the venue of the party's annual Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park this evening.
Mr Joshi had, two days ago, indirectly criticised party president Uddhav Thackeray's style of leadership style, contrasting it with the aggressive style of his father and party founder Bal Thackeray.
Later, he met Uddhav Thackeray, apparently in a damage control bid.
The Sena is holding its first Dussehra rally after Bal Thackeray's death last November.
Mr Joshi arrived on the dais late and faced with hostile slogans from party workers, chose to leave.
When reporters caught up with him outside the venue, he denied cadres opposing his presence, saying he was never upset with the cadres in the past, nor was he now. "No need to pit me against them," he said before hurrying off.
