Shoe hurled at Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda

Chandigarh: A farmer allegedly hurled a shoe at Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda during an official function at Dabwali in state's Sirsa district today but it fell short of the target.

Mr Hooda was addressing a gathering at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of a railway over-bridge when Raja Ram, aged 45, allegedly tossed the footwear at him, police said.

The shoe landed near the stage, they said adding Ram, a resident of Nathusari village in Sirsa, had been taken into custody.

Recently, a young man had slapped Mr Hooda during a roadshow at Panipat. Mr Hooda was travelling in an open jeep when the man lunged towards him and slapped him.

According to reports, the man was unemployed and attacked the Haryana Chief Minister to express his anger over not been able to get a job in the state.
