New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has directed all the ministries concerned with the Commonwealth Games to act in two weeks' time on the Shunglu Committee report.
In his missive to the ministries, he has sought answers in two weeks and has asked the ministries to keep him informed of differences, if any.
The Prime Minister-appointed Shunglu committee had slammed former Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (OC) Suresh Kalmadi for alleged irregularities in organising the Games.
The report had indicted Kalmadi for causing financial losses, and a loss of image to the Games and the nation.
In an extensive 534-page report submitted to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the committee had said that Kalmadi ran the Organising committee like a club, misused his powers and neutralised dissent by removing employees who objected.
It had also indicted Delhi Lieutenant Governor Tejinder Khanna and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for irregularities in certain Commonwealth Games (CWG) projects.
Ms Dikshit had, however, rejected the findings of the report as "self contradictory" and criticised the panel for lack of understanding on the city government's role in conduct of the Commonwealth Games.
