New Delhi: For the first time since the new education minister promised a slew of reforms, the Central Advisory Board on Education (CABE) is meeting on Monday in the capital.
It is Education Minister Kapil Sibal's first consultation with the advisory board and will be very crucial in implementing the reforms he has announced.
All state representatives are taking part in the meeting. Some of the proposals like a new grading system for CBSE after class 10 will be laid on the table.
However, whether or not all states will accept the formula is the ministry's key concern.
There is also a move to set up an overarching Authority for Higher Education and Research, which would take into account suggestions by both the National Knowledge Commission (NKC) and the Yashpal Committee.
At the CABE meeting held in February this year, members raised issues about a single regulatory body.
