Six killed in fresh Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh

Rajnandgaon: Six villagers have been killed by Naxalites in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh early on Sunday. Among those killed is sarpanch of the village.

Bodies of six people, including the Sarpanch and his relatives, were found 12 km away from Manpur Mohallah in Rajnandgaon district. They were kidnapped about a week ago by the Naxals, who suspected them of police informers.

Rajnandgaon district has witnessed a series of Naxalite attacks in the past. In July last year, Maoists had attacked a police party killing 29 personnel, including Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar Choubey.
