Guwahati: An earthquake of 'slight' intensity measuring 4 on the Richter scale shook Assam, including Guwahati tonight, according to a Meteorological office report.
The earthquake which hit at around 10.57 pm had its epicenter at Darrang in the state with its latitude 26.4 degree North and longitude 92 degree East, the report said.
As doors and windows rattled, people ran out of their houses for safety but no casualty or damage to property has been reported so far, police said.
