BJP leader Smriti Irani joined local artists in a traditional dance at an event in Imphal on Friday. In a video shared by news agency ANI, the Union Minister for Women & Child Development is enjoying herself as she matches her steps with the beats. People in the background are seen clapping and applauding her.

Voting for the first phase is on February 28, and the second phase is on March 5; earlier, voting was scheduled on February 27 and March 3. Ms Irani was in Manipur campaigning for the assembly election.
Recently, BJP president JP Nadda released the party's election manifesto for the northeastern state in the presence of Chief Minister N Biren Singh in Imphal. The BJP has said it will provide free scooters to all college-going meritorious girls in the state. And, girls, belonging to backward and economically weaker sections, will be given an incentive of Rs 25,000 for their education and development if the party is voted back to power.
Meanwhile, the Congress has described BJP's claim of bringing stability to the state as "hollow" and its zero-tolerance policy against the use of illegal drugs as a "joke". The main opposition party in Manipur has released a booklet titled "five years of darkness", referring to the BJP rule in the state.
The result of the assembly elections in all five states – Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa – will be declared on March 10.
