Srinagar:
An army soldier was killed on Thursday as the Pakistan Army resorted to "unprovoked" firing on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district.
Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia said the Pakistan Army violated the 2003 ceasefire in Machil sector at 10.45 am.
The Pakistanis used automatics and mortar shells. A civilian house was damaged in the shelling in Kamalkote area.
In another ceasefire violation in Rajouri's Sunderbani, a BSF jawan was killed and another injured.
Two soldiers were injured on Wednesday in Pakistani firing in Uri sector of Baramulla district.
