A soldier was killed in the line of duty and another was injured during an encounter with terrorists in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir after security forces launched a search operation early this morning, officials said.
A terrorist was also shot dead in the gun fight, which ensued after they opened fire at the security forces. As per news agency ANI, he has been identified as Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Azaad Lalhari.
"Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Azaad Lalhari of Pulwama killed in an encounter at Kamrazipora today in an operation launched by Police along with 53 Rashtriya Rifles," news agency ANI said tweeting an image of the terrorist.

Security forces launched a search operation in an orchard in Kamrazipora village of Pulwama in the early hours today based on information about the presence of terrorists there, officials said.
The search operation turned into an encounter after the terrorists opened fire, injuring two soldiers, they said. The injured security personnel were rushed to an Army hospital, where one of them died during treatment, they said.
A cache of arms has been also found at the encounter site. One AK rifle, a few grenades, pouches and other war-like stores have been recovered, the Army said.
