Some Of APJ Abdul Kalam's Belongings Taken To Delhi For Exhibit

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal instructed that the things used by Dr Kalam be exhibited in the cultural centre for public view from July 21.

Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu: Some articles that former president Dr Abdul Kalam used to possess, including 1,000 books, were on Wednesday collected from his house in Rameswaram by the Delhi tourism minister, his grandson Salim said on Wednesday.

The belongings will be placed for public viewing in the national capital from July 21.

"Delhi tourism minister Kapil Mishra visited Paikarumbu, where Kalam is buried. He later collected articles like slippers, pens, dresses, books from Kalam's house and took them in 23 parcels to Delhi," Salim told PTI.

Earlier, Mr Mishra told reporters that Dr Kalam's family had already demanded that the central government place the articles used by the former President for public view.

"Since Centre did not do it, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal instructed that the things used by Kalam be exhibited in the cultural centre for public view from July 21," he said.
