Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday congratulated the Indian team for winning the Kabaddi World Cup for a third straight time by beating Iran at the final.
Describing the performance as "stellar", Mrs Gandhi in a statement said, Indian team, with this victory, has upheld India's rightful place as the birth place of Kabaddi.
With heartfelt appreciation for the dedication and hardwork, she also wished great success to all players.
In a brilliant second half performance, India staged a memorable comeback to beat Iran 38-29 to win the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup in Ahmedabad.
