As soon as Sonia Gandhi missed her first comeback political rally on Wednesday in Uttarakhand because of high fever, there were speculations about Mrs Gandhi's health. Political circles are abuzz with reports that Rahul Gandhi could soon be appointed as Congress party's working president because of Sonia Gandhi's poor health.
The Congress president had undergone surgery in the US.
But the Congress party would surely hope that the visuals of Mrs Gandhi's interaction with school children today would put an end to these rumours. On the occasion of National Education Day, Mrs Gandhi interacted with school children from different states across the country and spent over 15 minutes with the children.
Analysts say the significance of the photo-op with the children was to stop rumors about how seriously ill Sonia Gandhi. The rumours have been doing the rounds since she could not attend a Chamoli rally in Uttarakhand.
