New Delhi: Congress chief Sonia Gandhi today met visiting Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe. It was her first public engagement in two months, since she suddenly took ill.
Ms Gandhi, 69, was admitted to the hospital in August after she fell ill during a roadshow in Varanasi. She was rushed to Delhi and then treated at Sir Gangaram Hospital. Doctors said she was also treated for a shoulder injury that she sustained in Varanasi.
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and senior Congress leader Anand Sharma were also present during the meeting.
Mr Wickramasinghe, who is on a three-day visit to India, will also meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He will attend the opening plenary of the Indian Economic Summit on Thursday before leaving for Colombo in the evening.
