Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice-President Rahul Gandhi today congratulated Leander Paes, Sania Mirza and Sumit Nagpal for their respective victories at the Wimbledon.
Both Sania and Leander combined with Martina Hingis to bag the women's doubles and mixed doubles titles, respectively, while Mr Nagal entered the history books as only the sixth Indian to win a Grand Slam junior title after winning the boys doubles trophy along with Nam Hoang Ly.
Describing their respective victories as "national achievements", they said the trio had made the country proud and their achievements will inspire millions of youth.
The Congress leaders also congratulated their partners Ms Hingis and Mr Ly, saying it was their joint endeavours that made the laurels possible.
