Congress president Sonia Gandhi has completely disowned a statement from one of her closest advisors, Janardhan Dwivedi, who had in an interview called for an end to caste-based reservations urging the use of economic criteria instead. In a statement released today, Mrs Gandhi said the Congress is of the firm opinion that caste reservations must continue.
