Soren, Munda file poll papers in Jharkhand

Former chief ministers Shibu Soren and Arjun Munda Thursday filed their nomination papers in Jharkhand for the Lok Sabha elections.

Ailing Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Soren arrived in Dumka in a chartered plane from Delhi to file his papers. He was taken to the returning officer's office in an ambulance.

He was accompanied by a doctor and his son Hemnat Soren. He filed papers from the Dumka Lok Sabha constituency and Jamatara assembly seat. Both elections are scheduled April 23.

Soren is seeking re-election from the Dumka seat for the seventh time. According to party sources, Soren is suffering from cardiac and kidney related problems and has prepared a video film of his message to be shown among the voters.

Munda filed his nomination papers from Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat. Munda is a legislator and is fighting the Lok Sabha election for the first time. He is pitted against sitting JMM MP Suman Mahto.
