There seems to be no solution yet to the political crisis in Jharkhand, just after it seemed that the deal was done and Shibu Soren was to step down as chief minister, he's done a U-turn.

An angry Murli Manohar Joshi today said that the political development in Jharkhand have begun to resemble the theatre of the absurd.

On May 17 BJP General Secretary, Arjun Munda declared, "The deal is done. BJP will rule for the first 28 months and then the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Shibu Soren will resign on the May 25.

"It may be their decision, not mine," said Shibu Soren, JMM president on Thursday.

On Monday the BJP raised a toast, claiming its Jharkhand jinx was over. Arjun Munda hinted the Jharkhand crown was his. But party president Nitin Gadkari, who's holidaying abroad, is in for a rude shock. Shibu has done a U-turn.

Soren's U-turn has stunned the BJP. At the daily press briefing, the spokesperson literally disowned the Monday press conference in Ranchi and Arjun Munda's candidature for the chief minister's post.

"We have nothing to say on Shibu statement. If we have something to say on forming a government in Jharkhand, we will come back," said Nirmala Seetharaman, BJP Spokesperson.

Last month Shibu voted against the BJP's cut motion. The BJP threatened to withdraw, but did not when he offered the CM's job to the party. Since then Shibu has been saying yes and no to going with the BJP. It's hurting the BJP's image but the party, pushed by the RSS, is refusing to let go Shibu's shaky hands.

On Jharkhand, the BJP is trapped between the devil and the deep sea; an unpredictable Shibu Soren is virtually making the BJP pay for its greed to rule yet another state.
