SOS from Himalayas to the world

Rohtang Pass: World leaders are meeting for the UN summit in New York, a precursor to the key climate change summit in Copenhagen in December. A strong message will be sent to them through the first-ever 'green carpet' premiere of a film on climate change. "The Age of Stupid" directed by Franny Armstong, will premiere at a solar-powered cinema tent in Manhattan. From there, the film will be streamed to 400 screens across America. The event also has live satellite linkups to melting glaciers and threatened rainforests.

One of these hotspots is a Himalayan glacier in Rohtang that has borne the brunt of climate change,  from where director Shekhar Kapur will be beaming out a live message to New York and India, urging politicians to wake up to the reality of climate change.
