Mumbai:
It is not worth doing business at the cost of hurting someone's sentiments, that's what Shah Rukh Khan has said for the first time since ending the association between his team the Kolkata Knight Riders and Lux Cozi.
Speaking to NDTV, Shah Rukh also said while he realizes the tie up may have hurt some people in Kolkata, the city has no problem if he continues as the group's brand ambassador.
NDTV: The year began at the very successful and very controversial note for you the latest of course is this whole Lux Cozy thing... were you taken a back by the whole public anger that you saw?
SRK: It was not an outrage it was a comment and the people in the city did not like it... and I stand by... its a team.. to be very frank as far as the legality part is concerned it's a company to company professional thing.. I am not really a participant in that way... but I want to show respect... We have a cricket team which has always been bugged by controversies which are not created by us... So, I really wanted to go off smoothly and our city is Kolkata and the cricket club will stay there and they have been supportive... and if there is something disturbing even if tiny winny bit... I am very clear even if that means loss in the business that's not important than the spirit of Kolkata and the Knight Riders so i explained to the partners and the associate that... and they were also of same opinion that we don't want to do anything at the cost of hurting somebody else's sentiments until the issue is resolved.
NDTV: Coming back to My Name Is Khan controversy... we were talking to Karan Johar 2 days back he said he never asked u to say sorry though this was how he brought peace during wake up sid... has there been any pressure from anybody.
SRK: I would like to say that it wasn't something I would take on for the future of my film.. it wasn't at loggerheads... All the people have been questioned... Bala Saab, Udhav ji I know them personally.. I always felt that their was a miscommunication... I told that in Barkha's show everywhere... That there is a miscommunication.. Please let it go, it will pass... I never understood... what was the reason.. what do I say, what I said that seems wrong or hurtful to anyone and I maintain that... and genuinely talk about support... I think Karan, the Fox team everybody was like... that there is nothing to do with the film... you have to stand by to what you say because it's a personal thing... and they looked sad on days.. hassled on days there was a lot of tension because this is the business of a film.
