Efforts are in progress to relieve daily commuters of recurring traffic congestion on NH-58, the city Member of Parliament and Union Minister General (Retired) V K Singh said on Sunday.
The work for widening of NH-24 will too start soon, Mr Singh said while talking to media persons in Modi Nagar on his way to Meerut.
The Union Minister of State for External Affairs also expressed his concern over the terrorist attack on army school in Peshawar and said it was a cowardly act.
"We have all sympathies towards those families who lost their children in the attack," the former Army chief said.
He alleged that sugarcane farmers are facing hardships in Uttar Pradesh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appointed a committee comprising of ministers from various departments to look after their payment of arrears, the minister said.
Kisan Morcha wing of BJP will start staging protests at all district head quarters to highlight the problems faced by sugarcane farmers, he said.
