Lucknow: Deworming of students aged between 1-19 years would be taken up across Uttar Pradesh on September 10, an official said on Tuesday.
Project Director of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan G.S. Priyadarshi said this was being done under the National Health Mission.
The drive would be taken up in 70 districts and the remaining five would be covered later in the second phase of the drive. These districts are Allahabad, Bareilly, Barabanki, Faizabad and Sonbhadra.
All government and government-aided schools would be administering Elbendazol-400 mg to students in the age group of 1-19 years. Teachers and 'aaganwadi' workers have been roped in for this drive.
He further stated that necessary instructions in this regard have been sent to all the basic education officers
