The ongoing tussle within the BJP over the removal of Vasundhara Raje as the Opposition Leader of Rajasthan Assembly is far from over. There is still no clarity over whether she will resign or not.
Meanwhile, there are reports that some of the 60 MLAs who had gone to Delhi to show their support for Raje have now begun backtracking and the number of those supporting her has gone down by nearly 15.
But for now Vasundhara Raje is showing no signs of stepping down. Sources close to Raje have told NDTV that it's unfair to ask her to resign when she had the support of over 60 of the 78 MLAs.
They also claim that Raje has still not received any official intimation from the central leadership asking her to quit. Pointing out that the BJP performed poorly in the country as a whole during the recent Lok Sabha polls, they say the top leaders need to introspect as well.
However, some of her supporters are quite vocal and say Vasundhara Raje is their sole leader. They also say that if she is dropped, it would be undemocratic.
