New Delhi:
The Supreme Court will take up the petition of Devender Pal Singh Bhullar who is on a death row who was sentenced for the Delhi blast in 1993.
Bhullar's wife had petitioned the Supreme Court to commute his death sentence to life; his mercy petition was submitted to the President on January 1, 2003 but was rejected on May 25, 2011.
Bhullar in his plea has said that his suffering is worsened as eight years had gone by after he was sentenced.
The Centre, in its affidavit, ha said that there was no delay. It also said that no time limit can be set for deciding mercy pleas.
