New Delhi:
The Supreme Court is expected to take up Davinderpal Singh Bhullar's plea today. Bhullar was convicted in the 1993 attack on former Indian Youth Congress leader MS Bitta. Though Bitta escaped, several others were killed.
His wife approached the Supreme Court, challenging the rejection of her husband's mercy plea by the President. In her plea she says since her husband is mentally unstable, he should not be hanged.
The Supreme Court had sought reply from Centre and Delhi government for the delay in deciding his mercy petition. Within few days of Supreme Court notice, President rejected Bhullar's mercy petition.
