Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has been chairing a disaster management meet on Wednesday to discuss preparedness as parts of the state brace for the cyclone.
Cyclone Phyan is expected to make landfall in Dahanu in Gujarat and Surat is expected to bear the brunt.
There are overcast skies not just in Surat, but also in Valsad, Navsari & Dang. Some rainfall is already being reported.
Fisherman and industries on Surat's coastal belt have been alerted.
