BJP lawmaker Harsh Sanghavi celebrated PM Modi's birthday with children with disabilities in Surat.
Surat, Gujarat:
A city-based readymade garment showroom on Ghod Dod Road in Gujarat's Surat city on Friday decided to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 66th birthday in a unique way by gifting nearly 200 divyangs and 55 HIV positive children branded clothes of their choice.
Jigar Patel, the shop owner decided to do something unconventional to celebrate Prime Minister Modi's birthday and hence gifted children with disabilities clothes.
Mr Patel said that when Prime Minister Modi is coming all the way from New Delhi to felicitate the disabled people at Navsari, he thought of doing the same for the disabled children in the city.
"It gave us immense pleasure in celebrating the Prime Minister's birthday with the disabled children. They shopped for their choicest branded clothes and enjoyed at the showroom," he said.
September 17 also happens to be Mr Patel's daughter's birthday and hence he took this unique initiative of celebrating both the occasions.
The event was organized along with BJP MLA from Majura Gate, Harsh Sanghavi.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to arrive at Navsari to distribute kits to more than 11,000 disabled people from across south Gujarat at a mega camp organized by Navsari district administration on Saturday.
This camp also holds the prospect of entering the 'Guinness Book World Records' in three categories namely most people fitted with hearing aid in eight hours, Largest wheelchair logo image and most oil lamps lit in one go at a single venue.
