New Delhi: Denying reports of dementia, Suresh Kalmadi, the jailed former chairman of the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee, said he had come to AIIMS for a routine checkup.
"I'm perfectly all right.. all that you are reading outside is all wrong. I'm perfectly okay. I came for my routine checkup."
Kalmadi, 67, has been admitted to the premier All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, to examine if he suffers from dementia
Lodged in Tihar Jail in connection with corruption in the preparation for the Commonwealth Games, Kalmadi had earlier complained of dizziness, depression and anxiety. He was then taken to the Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan Hospital on July 19 and an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan was carried out on him.
