Jamshedpur (Jharkhand):
Two persons were shot dead and another injured allegedly by CPI (Maoist) activists in Ghatsila sub-division of East Singhbhum district, police said on Sunday.
A group of armed ultras barged into the house of Bosko Singh (36) and shot him dead late last night in Jiyan village, the ultras shot at and injured the president of PDS dealers, Ramchandra Mardi alias Hopan Mardi in Kasiabeda last evening, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Ghatsila), Anup Birtheray, said.
The Maoists then went to Bakrakocha village and allegedly gunned down one Lakhiram Mardi. They alleged that Mardi and Singh were police informers.
The condition of Ramchandra Mardi, who was admitted in Ghatsila hospital, was stated to be stable, they said.
The district police and CRPF have launched a massive combing operation in the Naxal-stronghold areas, police sources said.
