Security forces today arrested a suspected Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist from Shopian district of south Kashmir and recovered arms and ammunition from his possession.
"Based on an information regarding presence of a terrorist in Harmain village of Shopian, a joint operation by Army and police was launched today, which resulted in apprehension of an Hizbul terrorist Nawaz Ahmad Najar," an army official said.
He said some warlike stores including two hand grenades, one Chinese grenade and ammunition were recovered from him.
"The terrorist has been involved in subversive activities since August this year in Shopian area," the official said, adding a First Information Report has been registered and the militant handed over to local police station.
