T3 trouble: Power, water problems mean no domestic flights, yet
New Delhi: It's one of the largest airports in the world, but Delhi's Terminal 3 isn't quite ready to take on full-scale operations yet.

The terminal opened for international flights on July 27. Airlines were meant to start using T3 for domestic flights on August 27.  However, the ministry for Civil Aviation has said "Presently the quality of power supply is erratic which is affecting the sophisticated baggage handling and security equipment at the Terminal." The Ministry has also said there's not enough water being supplied to the airport.

So in mid-September, Minister for Civil Aviation Praful Patel will review the arrangements and then decide when domestic flights can move to T3. They currently operate from Terminal 1 D.

The metro line connecting T3 to Central Delhi is also not yet ready and is likely to become operational only in mid-September, 2010.
