Talks with Maoists: Interlocutors to meet Mamata Banerjee
Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will today meet the interlocutors engaged in a dialogue with the Maoists in the state.

All three interlocutors had written to Ms Banerjee a few days ago expressing their desire to quit as the felt that any dialogue for peace between the government and the Maoists may not be possible given the hardening of stances on both sides over the last month or so.

The interlocutors were appointed by Mamata Banerjee after she became Chief Minister this year, but a recent spate of attacks by the Maoists on the Trinamool Congress leaders has prompted her to adopt an aggressive stance.

She even gave the go-ahead for anti-Maoist operations in the state after months of going soft on the issue.
