Karnataka's ruling JDS-Congress alliance, which has been ruling the state for the last one year, has failed to successfully convert votes in their favour, election results for the Lok Sabha elections indicated today. The BJP has managed to sweep the southern state, winning 25 seats on its own while the JDS has failed to get its founder Deve Gowda and his grandson Nikhil Kumaraswamy elected from their respective seats. Jaganmohan Reddy's YSR Congress seems to be heading for a landslide victory in Andhra Pradesh with all the 25 lawmakers from the Telugu state expected to be from his party. TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, who had been visiting key opposition leaders in Delhi, Lucknow and West Bengal in order to stitch a non-BJP front at the Centre, is expected to draw a blank in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, poll trends showed. The DMK-led front in Tamil Nadu can play a key role in the parliament as it expected to win over 30 seats out of 38 seats in Tamil Nadu, as per trends.
The coastal state of Kerala seems to have voted for the Congress-led UDF front as it is projected to win 19 seats of Kerala's 20 Lok Sabha seats. This is the worst defeat for the ruling LDF government in the state since the 1977 election. Congress President Rahul Gandhi, meanwhile, is leading by over one lakh votes in Wayanad, his second seat along with Amethi in Uttar Pradesh.
The southern states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Telangana are expected to play a crucial role in deciding the next government at the centre as they together account for 129 seats of the 543 seats in the lower house. A favourable performance in the Lok Sabha elections will also boost the chances of these leaders to play role of king makers if the BJP or Congress fails to win adequate seats. The BJP has crossed the halfway mark on its own steam and leads showed a NDA sweep in the national elections within two hours of counting of votes. The BJP is doing well in most states, including the three heartland states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, wrested by the Congress in December.

AP Election Results: Andhra Pradesh chooses Jagan Reddy, Chandrababu Naidu decimated
Andhra Pradesh has given a sweeping mandate to YSR Jaganmohan Reddy for both state and the Centre, practically decimating Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party. Mr Reddy, the chief of the YSR Congress, is leading in 141 of the state's 175 assembly seats and all 25 of its Lok Sabha seats. While Mr Naidu is yet to concede defeat, leaders in Mr Reddy's camp said he is likely to take oath on May 30.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party, which ruled the state since the bifurcation of Telangana in 2014, is unlikely to win a single Lok Sabha seat. In the assembly, he is likely to be reduced to 26 seats. One seat may go to the BJP.

Kerala Election Result: Left front performance worst since 1977
The Congress-led UDF front seems to be sweeping Kerala as it is consistently leading in 19 of the 20 Lok Sabha seats in the state. The This is the worst performance for the Left front since 1977 when it drew a blank in the coastal state. The UDF had swept the state winning all 20 seats. The BJP is unlikely to open any account in Kerala this time either.

Karnataka Election Results: Deve Gowda, Mallikarjun Kharge trail behind BJP rivals
Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) candidate H.D. Deve Gowda and Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge are trailing behind their BJP rivals in the Tumkur and Gulbarga (SC) Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka.
According to the latest vote count trends, Mr Gowda was trailing behind the Bharatiya Janata Party's G.S. Basavraj by 22,925 votes after four rounds of vote count in the prestigious Tumkur parliamentary seat, about 70 km from Bengaluru.
Mr Gowda polled 1,27,810 votes and Basavaraj 1,40,735 votes.
Similarly, Mr Kharge is trailing behind BJP's Umesh Jadav by 9,173 votes after the first round of counting in the Gulbarga reserved seat, about 610 km away from Bengaluru.
Mr Kharge polled 25,753 votes and Jadav 34,920 votes.
Deve Gowda opted to contest from Tumkur, paving the way for his grandson Prajwal Revenna to enter the fray from the adjacent Hassan seat, which is the traditional bastion of the JD-S and the Gowda clan.
Mr Kharge contested for the third consecutive time from Gulbarga.

Kerala Election Result 2019: Congress-led UDF front consistently leading in 19 seats out of 20 Lok Sabha seats
The Congress-led UDF front is consistently leading in 19 seats out of 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala.
The ruling Left Democratic Front dismissal performance in the elections are on the lines of the exit poll predictions. The exit polls, that were released soon after the end of the seventh and the last phase, had predicted the Congress-led United Democratic Front would garner maximum seats from the state.
"There have been many instances earlier when the exit polls have failed to accurately predict the election results. Majority of the exit polls in 2004 had predicted continuation of NDA rule at the Centre, but this was proved wrong. So there is no need to rely on speculations based on speculation," Pinarayi Vijayan had said, dismissing the poll predictions.

Congress led-UDF is leading in 19 out of the 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala with AICC President Rahul Gandhi leading in Wayanad constituency with 1,09,612 votes. As per the trends released by the Election Commission at 11.00 AM, Thiruvananthapuram candidate, Shashi Tharoor is leading with 13,716 votes against the BJP candidate Kummanam Rajashekharan, who had thrown his hat into the electoral arena after resigning as Mizoram Governor. AP Election Results: Chandrababu Naidu vs Jagan Reddy in pitched Andhra Pradesh battle
Voting for the 175 assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh was held on April 11. This is the first election in the state after it was bifurcated in 2014 and Telangana was carved out.
The polls saw a direct contest between the Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party and the YSR Congress. Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party, which joined hands with Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party and Left parties, is debuting in this election and may make a dent in some seats.
The TDP has 102 lawmakers in the 175-member state assembly while Jagan Reddy's party has 67 lawmakers. The BJP has four legislators.

TN Election Results Date 2019: DMK pushes on with Rahul Gandhi-for-PM on counting day
DMK chief MK Stalin reiterated that he believed Congress president Rahul Gandhi would become Prime Minister and his own party would capture power in Tamil Nadu.
Counting of votes is underway for 38 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu - the election to Vellore was cancelled after a huge amount of cash was seized - and for 22 assembly seats where bypolls were held. The assembly bypoll results can decide the future of the E Palaniswami-led AIADMK government in the state. AIADMK needs to win a significant number of seats to stay in power, with rebel leader TTV Dhinakaran challenging it on many seats.
The DMK is banking on the by-elections for a shot at capturing power in the state. The party, along with its allies, including Congress, has 97 lawmakers in the 234-member assembly against the AIADMK's 114. The simple majority in the full house is 117.
Exit polls have favoured the DMK-Congress combine in the state and have forecast a grim picture for the AIADMK, which has an alliance with the ruling BJP.
