Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu : Seven boys of a higher secondary school here have been suspended for a month for reportedly assaulting a classmate a few days back, who later had to be hospitalised after he consumed poison.
Officials said the students of the S R Government higher secondary school allegedly attacked their classmate for heckling two boys who had quarrelled.
Apparently ashamed over his act, the boy consumed poison and was rushed to hospital by his parents. The boy's condition is now stable.
Meanwhile, the headmaster conducted an enquiry based on a complaint by the boy's parents and relatives and suspended the seven students for one month.
